Levi Mullen: Bio

Talk about being born to do something! Levi comes from a large family of ranchers and musicians. His grandad was a square dance fiddler who had 12! kids, who all played an instrument! His greatest influence was his father, a steel guitarist who handed Levi a cheap department store guitar at the age of 9, and said, "Here, you're our lead player!" Years ahead of their time, the Mullen family formed and operated "The Ozark Opry", a Branson style stage show put on in the local gym in tiny Maysville, AR.
Anyway, since the age of 9 Levi has continually honed his talents (he now plays 10 instruments) and remaining true to his roots, began to produce his own REAL country albums, as well as others who wanted that traditional sound.
His songwriting hasn't gone unnoticed by his peers, with cuts by Johnny Bush, Leona Williams, Norma Jean, and a couple of the newer traditional torch carriers, Jake Hooker and Justin Trevino.
His recording credits are even more impressive, having laid down guitar tracks behind Merle Haggard, George Jones, Dolly Parton, Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush, Darrel McCall, Leona Williams, Connie Smith, Floyd Tillman, Curtis Potter and many others. As a sideman, he has backed the likes of Rose Maddox, Mel Tillis, Ray Price, Becky Hobbs, Barbara Fairchild, Mickey Gilley, Moe Bandy, Sammi Smith, Rudy Gatlin, Charlie Louvin, Rex Allen (Jr. and Sr.), Leon McAullife, Billy Parker, Cal Smith, Jana Jae, Dave Dudley, and many more. He regrets that he never had the chance to meet Marty Robbins or Roger Miller, two of his heroes. He is constantly writing and recording in his home studio, and enjoys fixin' up old trucks and playing golf.
